Ross McCartin, Managing Director of Ross McCartins Auction Centre and Secondhand, has over 40 years experience in the Auction Industry.

In the 1950's Ross joined the Stock Broking Firm, Australian Mercantile Land & Finance Company (AML&F) as a cadet auctioneer and served them until 1971. Ross has the distinction of selling the first drafts of cattle to pass through the Bohle (Townsville) salesyards in 1966 and HM Clarke (Charters Towers) in 1970.

Ross and his wife Jocelyn opened their Auction Centre in 1971 which has proved to be a very successful operation. This Auction Centre is operated in conjunction with a retail secondhand business at their South Townsville premises and conducts regular fortnightly auctions on alternative Thursday's.

On Site Liquidation, Deceased Estate, Motor Vehicle & Machinery, Closing Down and other auctions are our specialty.

We are the authorised Queensland State Government Auctioneers for the Townsville region for the disposal of surplus assets. The surplus is supplied by the majority of Government Departments represented in this locality.
